Association of African Election Authorities, AAEA
The Association of African Election Authorities is a platform that brings together heads of Election Management Bodies on the African Continent to dialogue, share experiences, set standards, and exchange lessons and best practices in the area of election management.
The AAEA serves as a peer-to-peer exchange forum that harnesses the knowledge and resources within Election Management Bodies for use by their counterparts.
The AAEA also offers a support system to Heads of Election Management Bodies in their time of need, including resource sharing and technological and information transfer.
Additionally, the AAEA amplifies the influence, voice, and relevance of Heads of Election Management Bodies in the area of elections, good governance, and democracy in Africa and around the world.
The Association currently comprises 45 members. It has a Secretariat hosted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
